Light - Bleach Drabble
Disclaimer: I do not own Bleach or its characters. That would be Kubo Tite.

About this: One-sided Isshin/Urahara. This one is really all thanks to [info]annieroo2 . The word association helped and I couldn’t help but write this before the idea escaped me. ^^ Enjoy!

Light

“Put me down!” I demanded, eyes going wide with panic. “I’m not your play toy, Isshin! Put. Me. Down.”

He even had the nerve to smirk up at me. Damn him for looking so good doing that. “Awww, come on, Kisuke-chan!” He cocked his head to the side playfully. “You’re kind of light, you know that? Have you been eating at all since you were exiled?” The hands around my waist tightened and I knew he wasn’t joking, at least not about the eating part.

“Of course I’ve been eating, you imbecile,” I hastened to reply, the grip threatening to leave behind bruises if it wasn’t loosened soon. “I wouldn’t be kicking and screaming and telling you to put me down if I didn’t have some form of nutrients in me, yeah?” I childishly crossed my arms and turned my head away, ignoring his presence for the time being – never mind that he was holding me up at the moment like a little child.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see his expression soften and I breathed a silent sigh of relief when his hold on me slackened. Without that vice-like grip, this was almost pleasant, comfortable even. I shook my head before any daydreams could distract me from my objective – to be put down.

“Can I pleaseeeee get down, Isshin? This is humiliating.” I cut my eyes to the side coyly and lowered my bottom lip, giving him the ‘pleading Kisuke’ look for good measure.

It only proved to amuse him, if his chuckling was anything to go by. “And that’s not? Sheesh, you really are like a little kid sometimes, Kisuke-chan! Plus, I’m waiting for something.”

Blinking, I turned to look at him straight on, face blanking of emotion. “… Waiting? Waiting for what?” He doesn’t know, does he? God, please don’t let him know.

“For me!” a new voice entered the conversation.

I gaped slightly at the woman who had just waltzed in through the clinic’s entrance doors. “Y – Yoruichi! Why exactly do you have that camera?” I winced slightly as the bright flash went off, instinctively covering my eyes with one hand. “You know what? Never mind.” I didn’t even have to look to know she was laughing at me, as was Isshin – the soft chuckles coming from him, from so close, enough to tell me that much. Thankfully, he decided to put me down after the picture was taken and I could stand on solid ground once again. I readjusted my yukata, one side having slid down to expose my shoulder, and glowered at the both of them. I would have to do something about that picture. As if I would let these two blackmail me

This one was really fun, even with the thread of angst running beneath it. Very nicely done.

I'm happy the word association worked for you. You actually picked the form of 'light' from my husband's list, so I'll tell him tomorrow he helped out a writer in need. But what a nice shout out! XD

Thanks! :D I was trying for light-hearted, but I couldn't resist adding in a dash of angst. ^^

Hehe, thank your husband for me as well in that case! I realized 'light-weight' can also mean 'someone who gets drunk quickly' but I couldn't see that happening, so I stuck with the literal sense - actual weight XD

I really find it strange how Kisuke had more weight on when he was in Soul Society, but after exile, his face becomes sharper and does look like he lost weight. :/ Then again, that could just be me making more out of it than what's really there since I'm an Urahara fangirl. :P Silly me.
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 12:59 am (UTC)
He says he was happy to help. :}

You know I've never notice the weight thing with Urahara. Is it in the manga that way or just the anime? If it's just the anime it was probably just a matter of different animators. If it was in the manga I doubt it was an accident on Kubo-san's part. Because from everything i've read he draws ALL his main characters himself. Either way being an Urahra fangirl is a good thing!! XD
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 01:42 am (UTC)
XD

And yeah - when I compare manga-Urahara to manga-captain Urahara the weight thing is still apparent. Maybe it was to show aging? Because slimmer Kisuke does look older.

But weight wise - I think getting kicked out of a place you considered home would be a bit of a shock for anyone. All the differences, all the adjusting that has to be done. I could see him dropping a few pounds due to that. *shrugs* But then again, that's just me.

My co-writer for a bleach/naruto crossover story (who I have long since dubbed my 'Isshin-shin' - long, silly story involved there) teased me about the whole 'why he lost weight' theory I had a while back, I do believe. I remember pointing it out and she called me on my ability to come up with wild, eccentric stories involving things like that <3

(XD And yes, much love for the unique Urahara Kisuke)

I love theories. Especially ones based on only a tiny bit of information like we have for Urahara and Isshin. Ryuuken is another one I love to theorize over. XD

I've read some great PWP sex stories for these 3 men, but I think one of the things I like about your fic is that it's an actual plot with story involved. I love PWP smut just as much as the next fangirl, but it's sad when some of my favorite characters never seem to get any plot. Urahara manages better than the others, but still the lack of love is sad sometimes.

I'll have to check out the Urahara weightloss when i get the rest of my manga next weekend. It intrigues me!

Theories rox my sox off. I could go on forever, finding supporting evidence and whatnot. Ryuuken is also a good candidate to come up with wacky theories for, too. <3 I did a meme a while back for 'name a character and I'll give you some facts about them from my pseudo canon'. Someone chose him and I came up with some really out there ideas.

Example: Ryuuken grew up without very much. His father's occupation could hardly pay the bills - let alone provide everything and anything Ryuuken so needed or desired. Hence why Ryuuken chose something worth being when he became an adult.

Uryuu was then brought up with the best of the best (if he chooses to take advantage of that, so be it - if not, well, it was still there if the boy wanted it), unlike the way he was. There's plenty of food on the table, no money saving ventures, no ludicrous ideas for raising money to support his family, and most importantly – no stupid hollows to worry about. Yes, life was good in his eyes. Money equaled out to happiness.

And haha, feel free to share any good PWP fics you know <3 I'd love to read some. I personally can't right good smut - hence why I go a different route with my stories. Plus, I like focusing on the emotions that lead up to such things, anyway. Haha, yeah, that's my pitiful excuse for my horrible smut writing talent. :D But you're write. No one really focuses on why they're doing what they're doing any more D: It's disappointing. Though I read a really good Isshin/Ryuuken once here that was definitely worth reading.

Random: The reason this particular idea (the whole one-sided Urahara/Isshin thing) stood out for the 100 themes was because I'm writing a multi-chaptered Ryuuken/Urahara, one-sided Urahara/Isshin story where Ryuuken manipulates to get what he wants. XD I hope to post it soon, but it's still in the rough, "I have no idea where I'm going with this" stages. Though I do have the last paragraph for it planned out, if that counts for anything. XD
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 04:30 am (UTC)
That fic you recommended was before my time here on LJ, so I'll definitely be checking it out. As for rec'ing any to you I'm sure you've seen all the ones I have but my fav PWP has to be with Isshin/Urahara/Ryuuken where they use body paint on Ryuuken. I think it might be in my favs if I remembered back then to mark it. It's been months though since I've seen any fics with Isshin or Ryuuken. That's why I was so excited when I saw yours. :)

*shrugs* I read lots of stuff without smut. The fics i read just have to resonate with me. I'll stick with a 20 chapter fic with no smut at all if it feels right.

If you don't like your smut writing, but want to work on it, just try some random one-shots. Lots of people will read one-shot PWP that won't read other stuff. You could probably get some decent feedback on your stuff if you wanted to work on it.

Some people just aren't comfortable writing smut though, which like I said is fine too. If you're not writing what you love and are comfortable with it usually shows.
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 04:53 am (UTC)
XD Glad I could be of service.

And thanks for that I idea. I might try some PWP for some of the requests I have on my Unlimited Thread. I think a few requested some themes I could work with to produce some smut. Heck, I think I still owe a friend a Shun/Jyuu/Nanao three-way that could work for it, too.

My comfortable zone, though, involves humor and bittersweet >.>; I have no idea why. But, I'm trying (albeit slowly) to broaden my horizons - so this whole smut thing will be fun to attempt.

And now another random moment: Would you mind if I added you as a friend? <3
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 05:23 am (UTC)
Everyone is better at different things. I have a friend who writes amazing Sasuke/Naruto sex and angst, but hates her writing when it comes to fights and action.

And me... I like to say I couldn't write my way out of a box. Seriously to save my life. My imagination sucks, but putting what little i have on paper is impossible. ;)

You have been added! Yeah more friends! XD
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 05:33 am (UTC)
True, that. ^^

I have issues writing Sasuke, personally. Like I once told a friend: I just never make him emo enough :( Naruto, though? I can write him in a heartbeat. <3 He's just such a little goofball.

Yay, new friends ftw~!

Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 05:43 am (UTC)
Personally I hate Sasuke in canon. Seriously hate him. Somehow my friend always writes him very emo, but yet still sympatheic enough for me to fall in love with him and Naruto as a couple. Then I go back to watching the anime and I hate him all over again. Sometimes I think my hatred of him is the only reason I can beta her fics. If I liked him before I started, I'd never be able to concentate on ripping him a new asshole. LOL
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 05:57 am (UTC)
lol! XD Canon Sasuke, yeah - not much love for him. But I love some of the wonderful fanfics out there with him paired up with Naruto. My favorite fic author for the pairing is [info]ffw_sarge She's just so awesome at it.

Though, I'm kind of saddened the fandom in general doesn't branch out into other great pairings like Gaara/Naruto. So I get bored easily with Sasu/Naru fics with unoriginal plot-lines. *sighs* *shrugs* Oh well! Can't have your cake and eat it, too XD
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 06:35 am (UTC)
I actually don't read Naruto fanfic. I think that's another reason I can beta it for my friend. I really like the anime, the manga's not so much becuase i dont' care for the art. But I only have so much free time with 2 boys and a husband to wrangle, that Bleach is my one and only fanfic obsession. I devour it when i can, which is not as often as I'd like, but still....

I will pass on your favorite writer's name though and see if my friend knows of her. probably but it can never hurt to pimp your favorite authors. ;)
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 06:52 am (UTC)
XD Bleach is my one true obsession, too. I've actually stuck with this fandom longer than any other, so far. I just love the characters and plot-line. Plus, there's so many characters to play around with and the interactions are always great.

Naruto, while it has Jiraiya (who's great <3), doesn't have too many characters like Shunsui or Urahara. And I love silly flamboyant types the best. (Though, I admit - I like psychos, too, so Itachi is my favorite in that fandom.)
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 07:09 am (UTC)
Itachi?! Well shit why am i not surprised. All my friends love Itachi. I think he makes a great villian, but he's just not around enough to fear, I fear. Huh? oh crap i think my writing is becoming incoherent. LOL

Actually I like a lot of the Naruto characters, Naruto, Lee, Gai, Kakashi, Iruka, Jirya, but Shikamaru is my favorite. He kind of reminds me of my husband. hehehe A lazy genius.

This is actually my 1 year anniversary with Bleach. They showed the first 15 episodes on Adult Swim over Christmas 2006. I taped it cause it sounded good and my son was finially one and i was actually sleeping, so i could actually focus on tv again.

So one weekend in January i sat down and watched it and immediately fell in love. I hadn't fallen this hard since the very first time I watched Buffy. It was definitely love at first sight.

Shortly after that I found an anime thread on my favorite author site and and found other people who loved it. They walked me through the on-line stuff and then i was watching it on streaming video, then I was DLing it. I ended up watching 119 episodes in one week. No I did not sleep.

Months later in the middle of the arrancar arc i was going nuts so i dled and read 265 chapters over a weekend. Nope, no sleep there either.

Then this summer came the fillers and i got hungry again, so I tried out this thing called fanfic. Which couldn't possibly be any good becuase it wasn't canon. ROFL Once again i was sucked in and have yet to barely come up for air.

It's just so much easier to fit a fanfic into my life than a novel, but i do still read published stuff just not as often. OMG! That was so fricking long! I'm sorry. *blushes*
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 07:27 am (UTC)
XD Because Itachi is awesome and full of win? See! He even made you incoherent! *points at the first paragraph* I'm just playing. Itachi is so minor next to Sasuke, however, so yeah - we don't see much of him. I'm kind of hoping the Uchiha brother reunion arc takes a better turn soon or I'll be sad. I really wanted to know more about Itachi and his motives, but ah well.

And lmao - I got hooked on bleach slightly after it started airing on Adult Swim. I was all "nah, that looks kind of stupid - they're just waving swords around, where's the fun in that?" But then my Naruto buddy kept pushing it (practically declaring I read/watch it or else) so I picked up some of the manga and BOOM! Insta-love. Isshin had been cracking up from day one - I mean, the whole "Good Morning, Ichigoooooooo!" thing never gets old to me <3

So, I completely succumbed to fandom and here I am now, still writing fanfic for it. XD
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 07:43 am (UTC)
ROFL yeah apparently Itachi affects even me.

Isshin was total win from the very beginning. I think that's one reason i got hooked so fast. But i have to admit the manga is much better story wise. Though i do love to see everyone in color running around looking hot! XD
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 07:52 am (UTC)
Fufu.

:D And color and animation is good, too! We get to see all the actions carried out the big screen (not to mention when Isshin - as his sexy shinigami self - made his appearance after that looooong filler arc ... gah, I couldn't stop staring. And my friend and I had been right on the mark for our crossover story - Isshin and Urahara HAD been best friends.)

Oh man, you have to read our collab Remnants of a Forgotten Dream (by FFPA over at ff.net) just for the kick ass Isshin/Urahara action we have going on in it >D *is pimping again >.<* Bad me. But I will link you if you're curious :D
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 08:07 am (UTC)
hook me up babe! I'm all for the pimpage.

It's cool you called it before it was canon. XD

I actually paused the anime at that point and just stared at Isshin in his shinigami uniform and captains cloak over shoulder. He was beyond hot and i loved him long before that point. I think I panted for 5 straight minutes. After I calmed down I SQEEEEED liked mad. MY hubby asked me what was wrong. Not that he wanted to know, but he's good like that with the pretending to care so I dont' feel bad. XD
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 08:23 am (UTC)
No prob! Pimpage!

lmao, you have an awesome husband <3
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 08:39 am (UTC)
Pimpage FTW! Checked and added to my favorites. Will read soon, but i won't be able to comment there as i am not a member. :(

Yep, best hubby. He thinks my yaoi obsession is good for the perks. ;)
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 08:49 am (UTC)
Anonymous comments are welcome as well ^^ But s'okay if you don't wanna comment there ;P I just hope you'll enjoy the read. (For it is much silliness)

:D Ohhh, perks for the win, yeah?
Have Fun Storming the Castle![info]annieroo2 on January 13th, 2008 08:59 am (UTC)
perks!
Oh i always thought anonymous wasn't allowed on ffnet. so okay, good i'll comment there and just leave my name. Silliness, woot!! must to bed head lolling... zzzzzzzzzzz
April[info]shadowgirl1605 on January 13th, 2008 06:48 pm (UTC)
XD lmao

And I think for certain stories, some authors set-up the "disable anonymous reviews" things, but I never bother ^^; If they wanna comment anon-like, *shrug* who am I to stop 'em?
